Job Description - Resource Advisor

Resource AdvisorID:B24AZ0194AZ-001Location:PhoenixProgram:BLMWage/Hr:$65.00Hours/Week:16 hours/weekMinimum Age:55This position supports the Bureau of Land Management Arizona State Office. Telework available in consultation with technical advisor. ?The BLM Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the BLM to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ?BLM ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 104 weeks. ?A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ?The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the BLM or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under BLM direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. BLM ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security. Qualifications:Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Natural Resource Management OR HS/GED DegreeNatural Resource Management experience. Extensive demonstrated knowledge/experience of BLM specific manuals, CFRs, USCs, legislative authorities, public laws. Demonstrated experience working in leadership or advisor roles to Federal executive leadership. Experience leading interagency collaborative groups.Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS ExcelMS TeamsDuties:Provide law and policy supported solutions and institutional memory to assist BLM AZ leadership in implementing DOI priorities.Serve in advisory capacity to BLM AZ State Director and State Leadership Team25%Lead collaboration with outside agencies/partners/stakeholders25%Consult on projects and schedule with program staff on lands/minerals, and natural resource issues25%Prepare and edit briefing packages for BLM AZ, HQ, DOI level review/approvals25%Other:Health and Safety Considerations: DOI Defensive Driving training prior to operating government vehicles.Physical requirements: Government/home office type work.
