Overview:
The Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education (COMDDE) at Utah State University (USU) is seeking a Teacher Aide II to work with preschool and kindergarten children who are Deaf or hard of hearing (DHH) in the Sound Beginnings program, as well as assisting the Director with several grant related initiatives. This position is Monday through Friday, up to 38 hours per week and is not eligible for remote work. Due to a variable workload, this position will periodically require unpaid Leave of Absences. Expected number of annual hours is around 1,600.
This position’s duration is contingent on funding, and funding is currently approved for five years.

Advertised Salary: Commensurate with education and experience, plus excellent benefits. ADA:Employees will work from a home office or work in a campus office environment and are protected from weather conditions or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. Employees nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing). Employees will have frequent engagement in video-conferencing and will nearly continuously view a computer screen.

COMDDE offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including PhD opportunities in neuroscience and disability disciplines within the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services. COMDDE provides real-world learning opportunities for students in the Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence (Hearing and Balance clinic; Speech & Language clinc, Pediatric Audiology, and Cochlear Implant clinics) and in our early education program for deaf and hard of hearing children, Sound Beginings.
