Job Description:

The Emergency Charge Nurse will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination in the Emergency Room of rural hospitals with 45 beds. The nurse lead will work in any of the specified IHS locations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in the emergency setting. The role involves working 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to the ER nursing team.
• Take care of scheduling the ER nurses.
• Have to spend 10% of time on administrative duties.
• Coordinate daily operations of the Emergency Room for efficient patient care.
• Conduct patient assessments and ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Lead and coordinate responses to critical situations, emergencies, and mass casualty incidents.
• Mentor and support staff in their professional development.
• Facilitate ongoing training and education for the ER nursing team.

Requirements:

- License/Certifications: Active nursing license in any state , BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC/CEN

- Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN Charge Nurse

-A minimum of 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience is required
