Nemours is looking for a
Registered Nurse who is well versed in
Pediatric Specialty Care who can assess, evaluate and develop nursing plans based on medical diagnosis and physician treatment plans for any of our specialty pediatric clinics. This position will be primarily in our
Endocrinology clinic assisting with the care of children with endocrine disorders as part of a multidisciplinary care team. In this role the candidate will assist with office visits ensuring all appropriate documentation accompanies patient to exam rooms; take pertinent medical history with entry into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) performs Point of Care Testing, uploads meters, completes telephone triage of patient/family needs as well as the education of patients/families on appropriate diseases/conditions.
Provides and coordinates nursing care to the pediatric endocrinology patient population. The candidate collaborates with other professionals on a institutional, community, state and national level.
- Performs complete and accurate patient assessment or reassessment.
- Responsible for patient flow of clinic to include obtaining vital signs, capturing and entering patient information into the EMR, performance of basic laboratory test and entering results in EMR.
- Also responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing EKGs, in office testing and rooming patients.
- Ensure provider's orders are carried out and assist provider with procedures as necessary.
- Familiar with pharmocokinetics, contraindications, side effects, mode of administration of all medications provider prescribes.
- Facilitates medication authorization and handles telephone calls with documentation in EMR.
- Coordinates care for patients and families that are seen in the endocrinology division.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Associate degree in Nursing required
- BSN Preferred
- Current BLS certificate through American Heart Association required.
- Current licensure in Florida as Registered Nurse.
- Endocrinology experience preferred
