School Nurse

Job Position: Temporary Summer School RN / LPN

Location: Innovative Arts Academy

Pay Rate: $40.00/hr part time seasonal for summer program

Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for summer session

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.

• Conduct health assessments and develop individualized healthcare plans for students with special health needs.

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care or referrals as needed.

• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state regulations and school policies.

• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to promote a healthy school environment.

• Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.

• Monitor and manage communicable diseases, ensuring adherence to public health guidelines.

• Participate in the development and implementation of health-related policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN), OR LPN.

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Certification in CPR and First Aid.

• Strong assessment and clinical skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in electronic health records and basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and adolescents.

• Knowledge of state and local health regulations and school health policies.

• Additional certifications relevant to school nursing.
