This position is responsible for the integrity of the financial reporting and for ensuring that transactions are correctly coded in the financial software system. Prepares the year-end financial statements for the auditors' review and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for submission to the Government Finance Officers Association in Chicago. This position is also responsible for performing other finance or accounting tasks of considerable complexity. The incumbent may also perform certain accounts receivable and accounts payable adjustments when the timing and revenue recording in the proper period are essential. This position reports to the Director of Finance & Administration Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This includes both working on the inputs for the report, but also presenting the final product and addressing questions where they arise.
• Performs account analysis on various GoTriangle accounts.
• Performs regular fixed asset accounting.
• May be responsible for supervising staff, including monitoring workflow, assessing performance, addressing questions and training, and correcting any performance or behavioral issues.
• Performs regular bank reconciliations.
• Prepares financial documentation for audit purposes.
• Performs complex journal entry preparation.
• Responsible for ad hoc reporting and analytics. This often involves coordinated effort with other staff members.
• Addresses questions from other departments or more junior members of the incumbent's department related to accounting procedures and rules.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of finance, business, economics, or a related field.
• CPA designation.
• Strong level of interpersonal skills required.
• Strong leadership skills and the demonstrated capacity to lead, mentor, coach and direct teams in the delivery of complex projects.
• Ability to develop program objectives and work independently on several objectives simultaneously.

An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the above stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

Working Hours and Conditions:

Works in an office environment where there is minimum exposure to dust, noise, or extreme temperatures. May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals while visiting operating facilities, during which the incumbent should observe all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and use all protective clothing and devices provided.
