Job Description - Senior Director Clinical Operations

THE ROLE

The Senior Director of Infusion Services works closely with the Executive Director of the PCI, PPMC finance team, pharmacy, nursing and infusion operations to ensure that infusion services throughout the Oregon region are delivered in a safe, efficient and financially responsible way. The senior director partners with system teams to understand infusion contracting, evaluating local and national trends to ensure providers have the best knowledge possible to deliver care to Oregon patients. Provides strategic leadership in drug cost reduction and medication utilization management. The senior director leads the strategic planning process to ensure access to infusion services throughout the Oregon region working collaboratively with service area and ministry leaders. This position ensures that services and programs are developed collaboratively and timely with community partners; are provided effectively, supported, monitored and financially successful. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide overall direction, leadership and vision to infusion services throughout the Oregon Region. Assure compliance with the laws, rules and standards of regulatory bodies and accreditation agencies. Collaborates with System and Division teams on contracting with payors and evaluation of new therapeutic regimens.

  • Responsible for infusion operations including workforce strategies, budgeting, access, financial performance, achievement of service metrics, and management of teams and deliverables.

  • Work with local and regional teams across ministries to identify and scope appropriate growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate with providers, Clinical Programs, acute care, division and system leadership, central services, and other services and departments to access services in response to the community's needs and to our strategies. Direct various projects related to growth, service and operational excellence.

  • Provide relevant operational feedback to and from providers, including referring providers, leadership and staff involved in operations and programs; lead and influence strategic and tactical programs.

  • Guide and support program and ministry leadership in developing goals and annual operating budgets for all sites and ensures that individual sites are operating within budget guidelines and meeting stated quality and productivity objectives.

  • Participate in budget/space/capital planning related to infusion services. Monitors metrics including revenue, payor mix, productivity and expenditures.

  • Hire, train, guide, evaluate and provide leadership for infusion directors, supervisors and managers to support the infrastructure needs of day-to-day operations of the operations. Develop and support programs that support DEI initiatives and goals and encourage a diverse workforce.

  • Chairs the Oregon regional infusion committee, engaging all stakeholders in improving patient care and financial performance including pharmacy, finance, clinic operations and Clinical Programs.

  • Manages collaborative SLA's with the PCN, pharmacy and finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred

  • 7 years of experience with infusion program development, management and operations

  • Successful experience in strategic planning, oncology and infusion

  • 7 years of progressive management experience in leading teams, process group facilitation, project management, and strategic planning

  • Local, State, and Federal Laws and negotiations related to disciplines.

  • Displays excellent knowledge of the cancer care continuum, emerging trends in care and technology and consistently able to share knowledge and a vision with interdisciplinary team.
