The Bureau of Water is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Section Manager for the Division of Water Pollution Control's Compliance Section located in Springfield, IL. The selected candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, be willing to use innovative ways to guide the Compliance Section and its staff consisting of approximately 10 individuals into the many new and existing compliance programs. As a leader for the Compliance Section, the individual in this position will frequently represent the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and Bureau of Water on various compliance issues to state, federal and local governments, industry, public interest groups, and stakeholders. This individual should also possess the knowledge and experience to guide professional staff with enforcement of the Clean Water Act, Illinois Environmental Protection Act, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits, state operating permits, and NPDES Electronic Reporting Rule.

Serves as the Section Manager, responsible for professional staff engaged in compliance assistance and enforcement of the Clean Water Act (CWA), Illinois Environmental Protection Act (ACT), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permits and electronic reporting rule and state construction and operating permits for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), Division of Water Pollution Control (WPC), Compliance Section, for the Bureau of Water (BOW);
20% 2. Serves as full-line supervisor:
20% 3. As Section Manager, responsible for State and federal programmatic and strategic plan objectives, goals and commitments.
15% 4. Directs Reporting and Data Management
10% 5. As Section Manager, oversees outreach activities for reporting and oversees data sharing requirements/Rules;
