Shift Manager- Security Guard

Natchez Trace Youth Academy, a Universal Health Services, Inc. company has a long history in providing comprehensive behavioral health care services to at-risk youth struggling with extensive mental health issues. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is a highly-structured 115-bed cognitive behavioral program serving adolescent males ages 10-17 years old. Our interdisciplinary staff helps residents refocus their thinking patterns in order to improve their actions/behavior. Our diverse team works together to facilitate the changes that become an investment in the future of each young man's life and his family's life. We are located in the beautiful hills of Tennessee between two magnificent rivers, just 15 miles south of Waverly, Tennessee. Natchez Trace Youth Academy is seeking dynamic and talented Shift Manager, 2nd shfit to join our team of compassionate, dedicated individuals to help us continue our tradition of helping young men achieve the greatest chance of success possible. The Shift Manager role is to insure the safety and security of all students and staff and to protect the facility from inside/outside harm. Under the direction of the Director of Residential Services

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete required paperwork daily / as directed to be turned in to the Director of Operations each shift.
  • Complete and report overtime status at the end of each shift.  Ensure Direct
  • Care Staff complete overtime reports as designated and complete the daily census sheets to be turned in to the Business Office.
  • Coordinate with Nursing Department medical transports and daily sick calls. Monitors the routine medication administration line movements of each dorm.
  • Makes sure appropriate/sufficient staff coverage is maintained at all times and that all security issues are addressed and reported properly.
  • Monitor all student movements and provide security during special activities.
  • Responsible for perimeter and outside security checks to maintain safety and control outside interference.  This includes the checking of the fire alarm systems across campus to ensure proper functioning.
  • Complete daily inspection of dorms, grounds and other buildings on campus to ensure cleanliness is well maintained utilizing the appropriate forms. Reports all maintenance issues that are observed using the Maintenance Request Forms.
  • Inspect vehicles with the assistance of transportation personnel to maintain proper usage for all off campus trips to include: gas, tires, oil and cleanliness.  Ensure that all transportation forms are completed to include appropriate signatures before transport departs.
  • I n the event of an escape/AWOL, the Shift Manager is the on-site Supervisor until the CEO and Director of Residential Services arrives.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Higher level education in the fields of Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice and/or related experience preferred
  • One (1) year experience in a residential treatment or children's services program preferred. 
  • Valid state driver's license.
