Job Summary
This position is reserved for current University of Utah students. We are looking for a student to fill a part-time Social Media Coordinator role for the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah. This position will consistently post on our various social media accounts, as well as use an e-mail and text distribution service.
We use social media with the goal to share our cutting-edge research; recruit residents, fellows, and faculty members from around the globe; celebrate individual and community successes; spread awareness of neurological conditions within our community; promote local events and conferences; inform donors and potential donors of what they can do to support causes dear to their hearts; and share patients’ stories of hope with the world.
We use our e-mail and text distribution service to educate our patients on new research. Many patients don’t realize that their doctor doesn’t only work within the clinic and hospital, but also works in their labs and research groups to publish findings and lead clinical trials. Raising awareness about the life-altering findings and trials can improve the quality of life of patients by giving them added purpose, appreciation, and access to the latest information about their condition.
This position will work closely with the department’s managing Editor to ensure all content is grammatical and represents the department and university well. This position will also work closely with many faculty members, including the department Chair and Office of Advancement.
