Software Engineer

Responsibilities

Requirements:

• Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical algorithms, as well as User Interface elements.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Requires a minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5 years of software engineering development experience. Four years of additional software development experience may be substituted for degree.
• Requires an active TS/SCI with Poly level clearance.
• Requires coding experience with Java , C# or scripting language
• Application development experience , both UI and data processing
• Willingness to learn new languages as mission requires.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Familiarity with Git - source code control. 
• Experience with Encryption and key management.
• Basic OS administration experience with Windows, Android, Linux, and/or Mac 
• Experience with Python, Angular, Kotlin, C ++ , Typescript/Javascript/Rust
• Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development 
• Experienced with Mobile Development iOS/Android
• Full development and deployment life cycle experience (Requirements Gathering, Design, Develop, Document, Test, Deliver, Post-Installation Support)
• Full life cycle testing experience (Unit, Integration, and/or Functional)
• Web development

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
