Job Description - Solutions Architect

Noblis is seeking a technical thinker and doer to work as a Quantum Architect with a strong background in quantum mechanics, including processing, computing, and engineering. The candidate will be responsible for providing expertise to a sensitive client within a highly dynamic and impactful operating environment located in McLean, VA or Bethesda, MD.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with government, industry, and academia to define state of the art solutions, define information and system gaps, and develop alternative approaches and solutions to better the client’s national security mission.
  • Provide technical and strategic advice for current and future projects to ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total system solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of Quantum hardware and software to develop advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to address next generation mission and system requirements.
  • Perform software service requirements development, software service design, integration activities, support system test and evaluation, configuration control, and other engineering efforts to integrate quantum techniques.
  • Lead or substantially participate in executing quantum-related intelligence studies including the development of needs, translating needs into requirements, collecting, normalizing, and preparing data, and applying qualitative and quantitative analytic techniques to develop well-formed and supported alternatives and recommendations.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience or Doctorate with 4+ years of experience in physics, computer science, mathematics, chemistry or engineering
  • Proven ability to work within a highly dynamic environment, often with multiple competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with senior leaders and action officers.
  • Proven ability to lead, facilitate, and substantially add value to working groups or interagency study teams. 
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in programming and compilation of optimization problems to near-term quantum processors, both gate-model quantum processors and quantum annealers
  • Expertise in research and development of quantum computational approaches to challenging combinatorial optimization and sampling problems with relevance to areas such as planning and scheduling, fault diagnosis, and machine learning.
  • Expertise with gate-model processors
  • Demonstrated experience working with IC Agencies.
  • Knowledge of IC systems, processes, data, and policies. 
  • Demonstrated experience with planning and conducting studies and analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver analysis, alternatives, and findings, and communicate key data points to varied audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering executive-level decision analytics, papers, and studies.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position  is provided within the posting and  are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.

 

USD $125,500.00 - USD $219,600.00 /Yr.
