The starting pay range for this position is $24.90 - $33.47 per hour.

29-29.5 hours per week.



The State of New Hampshire, Office of the Advocate for Special Education has a part-time vacancy for Special Education Liaison.

Summary:



Coordinates communication with other special education agencies to strengthen statewide opportunities for families.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree

36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree

54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with a major study in health care administration or public administration, or related policy development field.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in a planning and/or analyst capacity at the state or local level in the area of program evaluation, coordination or plan development. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education at the graduate level only.

License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver’s license and/or have access to transportation for statewide travel.

Responsibilities:



Researches public and private special education agencies and their goals to offer additional support from the Office of Advocate of Special Education (ASE). Communicates resources to special education families to build a network across the state of New Hampshire.

Creates and maintains partnerships with special education agencies to connect special education families to proper support. Compiles contact information of agencies to share on the ASE website.

Communicates with higher education institutions to maintain partnerships for ASE internship program and assists the Advocate in onboarding interns. Support interns by maintaining training guides, reviewing documentation submitted, and offer knowledge of state special education programs.

Promotes connection between special education agencies to create partnerships across the state that allows the ASE to support a standardized approach to special education policies and procedures statewide.

Collects data from special education agencies to share with ASE to determine the statewide need for additional services. Data collected includes the amount of students with special education needs (IEPs, support services, etc.), amount of students utilizing resources in each region, and success of special education agencies in securing support for students.

Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and special education serving agency policies and related metrics; attends professional conferences and periodic trainings to enhance knowledge base of special education.
