Job Description: ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year in St. Albans, NY. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of students with special needs and will be able to work collaboratively with a team of educators, parents, and administrators to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to support student learning and development.
Assess students' skills and learning needs to tailor instructional strategies.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of student performance.
Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education.
Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and autism spectrum disorders.
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
