Job Description - Sr. Administrative Assistant

What Administration contributes to Cardinal Health

Administration is responsible for performing a variety of administrative activities in support of functional areas or for specific projects.

Job Summary

Under general direction of the Vice President of Research and Development and/or Director of Facilities, this position is responsible for providing administrative assistance for the local R&D team and leadership team. This position is based in the Hazelwood, MO office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general copy, filing, shipping, coordinating mail and distribution of documents.
  • Coordinate with Mansfield Admin to help maintain department org charts/headcount accurate.
  • Support department with international travel requests, international Visa applications, expense reports, and other related travel needs.
  • Order and maintain site general office supply inventory.
  • Interface with IT for network, copy, fax or printer related issues.
  • Maintain printer/copier ink supplies.
  • Assist in planning RD town hall meetings, annual recognition events and larger scale team building events. This includes booking meeting rooms for local team and working meeting/ lunch requests.
  • Support managers with on-boarding of new hires at the local site. 
  • Assist with new employee computer, credit card, travel profile.
  • Administrative support of P-Card statements.
  • Create and submit purchase order requisitions and follow-up.
  • Assist with capital requests.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • 4- 6 years work experience in related field preferred
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, ability to be adaptable
  • Proficient in MS Office programs and Outlook preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills preferred

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Provide administrative support to Vice President and leadership team onsite
  • Manage all front reception area needs for site location
  • Effectively applies knowledge of job and company policies and procedures to complete a variety of assignments
  • In-depth knowledge in technical or specialty area
  • Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently
  • May modify process to resolve situations
  • Works independently within established procedures; may receive general guidance on new assignments
  • May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members

Anticipated hourly range: $21.20 per hour - $31.71 per hour
