Job Description - Sr Practice Administrator

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the operations, staff, and providers of multiple employed provider practices.. This includes ownership of staffing, payroll, budget, and revenue cycle associated with the clinics.

This position also promotes collaborative practices with other hospital departments, physicians, and other EPN Leadership. This position requires the ability to work with others to identify and implement solutions to difficult human, technical, and administrative problems. Must be able to adjust to, and lead others through, rapidly changing environments while demonstrating emotional and professional intelligence.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1. Oversees day to day operations of assigned practices.

2. Handles the employment process, to include posting jobs, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating employees.

3. Manages disciplinary issues and c onducts annual employee evaluations.

4. Responsible for payroll, ETO management, and vacation/call out vacancies.

5. Maintains appropriate staffing levels in accordance with volume and budget.

6. Manages provider clinic schedules to ensure efficiency and productivity.

7. Participates in physician recruitment to include meetings, lunches, and/or dinners.

8. Responsible for on-boarding new physicians/APPs including med staff credentials, payor credentials, malpractice application, and any other required process for new physicians to practice.

9. Manages new clinic startup with the assistance of the Service Line Director.

10. Handles budget development for clinics with the assistance of the Business Manager and Service Line Director.

11. Reviews and understands budget reports, revenue cycle data, and quality metrics.

12. Presents and reviews monthly financial reports with providers.

13. Responsible for managing and controlling clinic expenses and budget variances.

14. Reports on budget variances on a monthly basis to the SLD and CFO.

15. Maintains updated wRVU data and submits quarterly payment requests when needed.

16. Works closely with Quality staff in regards to the ACO and payor quality metrics.

17. Participates in monthly calls/meetings with ACO and payors.

18. Continuously evaluates department processes to improve quality of clinical documentation and customer service.

19. Oversees the current department standards and procedures including contract compliance for physicians and locum tenens.

20. Responds to physicians, administration and other departments on matters concerning departments under direct supervision in a timely manner.

21. Enforces hospital and/or department policies and procedures.

22. Manages department functions to ensure optimum productivity, efficiency, quality improvement and customer satisfaction.

23. Represent practices at assigned meetings or functions and attends staff meetings.

24. Ensures compliance with JCAHO requirements and all federal and state regulations.

25. Responsible for updating required annual notices in clinics as directed by compliance.

26. Assists organization with community outreach.

27. Other duties as assigned.

 


 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Education:

Bachelor degree in Business Administration other related field is preferred.

 

Experience:

Minimum of three years management experience required.
