Under the direction of the Associate Director of Student Accounts, the Student Finance Administrator will be responsible for meeting the best practice guidelines in terms of technology and effectiveness for both Student Accounts Receivables and Student Accounts Payables transactions. This person should strive to always provided a level of service that meets the College's standard of excellence. The Student Finance Administrator will work closely with the Accounts Payable Administer to coordinate weekly payments to students. They will need to maintain a high level of accuracy working in dual capacity to ensure payments going out for students do not exceed outstanding balances. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a cross functional setting.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a pay range of $22.00 to $24.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivables
- Prepare Account Reconciliations for Manager review with all online in-bound payments
- Assist with the preparation ERP migration transactions during transitionary period
- Responsible for the collection of Student Financial Responsibility Agreements
- Primary point of contact for answering billing inquires from parents and students regarding their account
- Communicates with parents and students via e-mail, telephone and in person on questions regarding specific charges and account activity. Counsels parents and students regarding payment options including payment plans, financial aid, etc.
- Promptly respond to internal and external customer service issues, concerns and escalations in a time-appropriate manner
- Review of compulsory Title IV student refunds and payments
- Gain a thorough understanding of Title IV regulations and refund eligibility requirements
- Prepares Collection Account Files for review with Student Accounts Assistant Director for placement with collections agencies
- Upload daily Admissions deposits received online or via mail and associated reconciliation. Record Credit Card Fees associated with Admissions deposits
- Regularly post the balances shown on the banking systems for cash available
Accounts Payables
- Responsible for student payments including but not limited to: Student Account Refunds, Fellowship Payments, Travel, Events, Stipends, Prizes and Awards
- Collection of Direct Deposit information and review of stale dated payments
- Actively communicate to graduating seniors regarding final payments upon graduation
- Entry of Study Away Vendor payments in coordination with Student Accounts Billing
- Analyzes and exercises judgment in evaluation completeness and accuracy of outgoing payments and has the ability to identify discrepancies, determine and implement corrective action and ensure that payments are not made unless eligible
Cross Training and Backup
- Other related duties as assigned
- Provide assistance with Departmental Charges
- Provide assistance with Check Scanning and General Cashiering needs
