As the Supervisor in Environmental Services, your primary duties will include:  

• Overseeing daily operations and upkeep of the assigned facilities shop, quality control, and more.   

• Lead the department function and resources in the absence of a manager.   

• Assisting manager with time records, work orders, purchase orders, and more.   

• Maintaining staffing levels, approves and schedules paid time off and leave requests.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises employees in daily operations and evaluates performance.
• Ensures cross coverage.
• Coordinates and provides orientation, education and training.
• Improves procedures and processes.
• Analyzes work flow and procedures, recommending change as appropriate.
• Provides recommendations to improve speed, quality and effectiveness of the department procedures.
• May be assigned to cover shifts in the event of staffing gaps including vacancies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree may substitute the experience requirement.

Certifications:

• None required.

Complexity of Work:

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  

Work Experience:

• One year of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager, or one year of supervisor experience in a related field.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light Work – Exerting 11 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
