Job Description - SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR I

Responsible for the overall system administration and system performance of one or more key systems at Hard Rock Rockford. This may include, but not be limited to, systems such as Micros Point of Sale, ACSC (CMS/SMS), Microsoft Networks, AS/400, Telecommunications, and related software and hardware, Personal Computers, and systems, which play a key role in the operating environment of the casino.

  • Responsible for the company’s NEC and NORTEL systems and switches.
  • Available to work in a 24 hour, 7 day a week environment.
  • Able to provide on-call support 24 hours, 7 day a week.
  • Provide on-the-job work direction to other support staff and function as an IT staff trainer when necessary.
  • Interface with Hard Rock Rockford team members regarding computer program requests or problems.
  • Assist in planning and development of staffing, training, and equitable treatment of all IT personnel and ensure the computer/equipment areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Evaluate end user needs and provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Assist the IT Manager with identifying systems and programming requirements, setting priorities, and scheduling for systems maintenance, systems development, and programming projects, and ensure their efficient, cost-effective, and timely completion.
  • Stay abreast of the state of the art in computer technology and systems.
  • Promote positive end user relations, high employee morale, and performs tasks or other duties at the direction of department Management as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Attend seminars when needed.

Minimum of a four-year computer degree from a college or university; or four to five years related casino experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred. Must have 3+ years’ experience with NEC and NORTEL systems and switches.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

 

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays with the understanding days off will fluctuate.
  • Proficient in MS Office Computer applications.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must be able to address stressful situation with guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

 

  • AS/400, MICROS, Windows, and Telecom administration knowledge.
  • Microsoft MCSE, A+, and Network+ certifications a plus.
  • Must have the ability to withstand noisy and smoke-filled environment.
  • Must be able to work any shift and provide on-call 24X7 support.

  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
