Technical Publications Systems Administrative Developer in GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

  • Skilled in data management and configuration, integrates quickly with surrounding business structures required.
  • Four (4) years plus of technical experience working with primary technical publication systems and related software applications.(XML Professional Publisher, Published database management, SGML/XML writing and editing,) including style structure and Document Type Definition (DTD)/Schema development.to include: (2) two years of eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and/or Standard General Markup Language (SGML) and or XML/SGML related software applications used for the electronic delivery of technical or corporate documents experience required.
  • The ability to keep pace with information standards for aviation maintenance, is familiar with ATA iSpec 2200, S1000D and eBusiness with emerging technologies that are applicable to interactive electronic technical manuals (IETM) required.
  • Preferred extensive knowledge of web structures and development, a strong background in (HTML, XML, Javascript) along with styles used for display such as XSL and CSS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Server/PC environments and setups with preferred experience on window platforms integrated with UNIX/Linux servers required.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 6 years experience with computer systems, software, mobile applications, architecture and/or development to include big data or technical publications systems experience in development, composition and content delivery. Position Purpose : Be a catalyst for new ideas and efficient methodologies and standards for large volume publication systems of aerospace technical and maintenance manuals in a variety of formats. Assist with defining needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  • Provisioning, operations and support, research and development, and coordination of maintenance and to ensure continual innovation of products that meet and exceed our customer and user expectations .
  • Coordinate with Gulfstream internal IT management and administrators to support new and existing apps/systems, identify and assist with software release updates and arrange help with integration of company compliant processes that support all areas of the Technical Information Services (TIS) organization and Technical Publications.
  • Identify, recommend and orchestrate the implementation of improvements to internal processes that will improve group efficiency and increase effectiveness.
  • Create user information solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining Internet/intranet applications .
  • Perform business and technology trend analysis and make recommendations to management of complex systems operations and requirements for integration of the data into technical information products and services.
  • Participate in development activities including requirements gathering, process owners education, process documentation, and testing. Work directly with, internal and external end users and customers, to include international, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Support the team and organization on use of best practices and values to improve products and services.
  • Make recommendations on system and/or application solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) purchase alternatives.
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze and problem solve.
