Job Description - Transportation Administrative Assistant

Transportation Administrative Assistant ***Direct Hire Opportunity!*** Salary: $54,080 - $58,240/year (based on experience)
Location: Perth Amboy, NJ Job Description: Provide high-level administrative support by making inquires, preparing statistical reports, handle correspondence, upkeep files, complete clerical work, handle information requests, and preparing arranging meetings. Assists the transportation department by striving for organizational and customer service excellence.  They hold themselves responsible for the efficient flow of information and serve as a liaison between clients, sales people, drivers, and management. Job Responsibilities:
  • Roadnet:
    • Driver and Merchandiser daily routing 
    • Operations Holiday Schedule
    • Email driver route issues
  • Payroll (Metro, CT, & MA)
  • Driver/Merchandiser: 
    • Cellphone listing
    • Vacation schedule 
    • Driver schedule route
    • Department rosters
    • OTR Hotel Receipts/booking
    • JJ Keller DQ File
    • DOT Inspections
    • Drug Testing file upkeep
    • Driver orientation books/handbook upkeep
    • Driver/merchandiser meeting coordination 
    • Driver incentive program (Metro, CT, & MA)
    • Wakefern fines
    • Employee recognition Merchandise ordering
    • Payroll & Cases by route metrics
  • Petty Cash:
    • Money Handling
    • Driver Receipts
  • Logistics:
    • LTL upkeep/rate negotiations 
    • LIL order submission to carriers
    • FTL order submission to carriers
    • DC transfer orders submission to carriers
    • Carrier claims
    • Credit applications 
    • Walmart fines and responses
  • Invoice reconciliation 
  • Cintas file upkeep
  • Security Driver files
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of transportation admin experience
  • 2 years of clerical or office experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Multitasker
  • Organizational & Time Management skills
  • Able to work in a fast -paced environment 
  • Weekend availability when necessary 
  • Quick critical thinking and problem solving abilities 
  • Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills
