Depth & Scope

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
  • Responsible for strategy, leadership, planning, and organizing end-to-end delivery and oversight of a Program Delivery portfolio across our Capital Markets business that includes - Benchmark Rate Reform (LIBOR Cessation), Payments, Surveillance, and Europe-APAC business
  • In addition to leading strategic change-aligned pillars, this executive will also engage on TD Securities' acquisition integration
  • Accountable for key delivery decisions and aligning cloud / technology and business objectives into a shared delivery vision; Delivery decision includes assessment of multiple stakeholder impacts
  • Anticipates issues, trends and the potential impact and timely resolution of impediments, while effectively managing the program schedule (releases) and financials and ensuring continuing review and prioritization
  • Designs analytical metrics and suggests improvements to business operating model
  • Communicates, influences and/or guides executive levels across TDS in accordance with the strategic change delivery strategy/roadmap
  • Facilitates the breaking down of strategic change delivery priorities and roadmap into component parts that can be executed through Rapid, TD Agile PDLC delivery approaches as appropriate
  • Collaborates with and coach the respective enterprise control partners (e.g., EPDE, Strategic Sourcing Group, Legal, TRMIS, OCDO. etc.) to actively socialize TD Securities delivery standards within accepted delivery principles
  • Builds and leads a large diverse business team to effectively deliver productivity, quality, and innovation
  • Builds for the future by attracting and developing the best people
  • Comfortable leading through change and recognized as a champion for continuous improvement
Education & Experience
  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering, STEM or Finance
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in global markets, banking, sales or trading platforms and dealing with clients, risk and PnL
  • Prioritization, budget planning and program management for multi-year programs
  • Must have domain expertise in Capital Markets products and service, with emphasis on benchmark rate reform and its ensuing downstream integration into risk & valuations, lending transition and back-book transition
  • Must have understanding of wholesale banking platform, applications and workflows; Special emphasis on information-requirements for Global Markets financial products across the entire lifecycle from onboarding to sales, pricing, valuations, execution and settlement
  • Outstanding record of project delivery success, both in results achieved and in use of professional methodology especially using Agile approach
  • Partnership with Business Owner(s), Technology, Operations & Risk groups to remove impediments and manage within TD's risk appetite
  • Pro-active in organizing and implementing business aligned priorities
  • Flexible with an innate ability to course correct
  • Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills
  • Strong working knowledge of project management techniques and tools including Microsoft Project, JIRA and Confluence
  • Ability to build, motivate and influence leaders & teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; high threshold for dealing with ambiguity
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and relationship management skills
