Wash Line Operator

The wash line operator will work with raw material and load and process through an aqueous wash line machine then stage for the next process step.
Description of basic functions and responsibilities

• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment throughout the workday:
  • Safety Glasses
  • Hi Visibility Vest
  • Steel Toe Boots
  • Gloves
  • Hearing Protection
• Operate the turnings wash line according to machine operating instructions
• Carry out production requirements as directed by the area supervisor daily
• Operate forklift to load and unload machine
• Move inventory and materials across facility on forklift
• Inspect finished (washed) material to verify conformity for next phase in production process
• Routine use of lab equipment (LECO Analyzer) to verify product conformance
• Inspect machines daily as described by internal checklists
• Good written communication skills:
  • Filling out travel tags on production material
  • Updating production & downtime logs
• Communicate any machine issues to supervision and maintenance employees
• Ensure workplace is free from potential safety hazards, keeping work area neat and clean

• Must be able to work in varying work environments
  • Elevated temperatures
  • Cold temperatures
  • High humidity
  • Moderate noise levels
• Standing 90% of the time
• Some pulling/pushing involved
• Moderate bending and stooping
