About Us
Aecon-Wachs, in collaboration with our parent company Aecon Nuclear is a total solutions provider. We offer services based on many decades of experience, in-depth knowledge, and a broad range of qualifications to support nuclear power clients in the construction, maintenance, and decommissioning of their plants.
The EHS Advisor position will be responsible for ensuring his/her team actively promotes a health, safety, and environmental culture to all levels of employees in support of the Rock Island Dam demo and piping replacement project.
Duration of the contract is 3 months, with the possibility of up to 12 months. This position requires shift work
NATURE OF THE WORK SCOPE
What You'll Do Here
⦁ Promote, educate, and reinforce Company Safety Policies and Regulatory Standards
⦁ Train project staff in the requirements of conventional safety procedures
⦁ Track and report safety-related statistics
⦁ Manage Return to Work, Modified duties cases at the field level
⦁ Complete and document EHS field inspections, observations, and incident investigation reports
⦁ Ensure proper case management for any work-related injuries or illness
⦁ Support field activities
Required Knowledge and Skills
⦁ A designation such as OSHA 510 or OSHA 511
⦁ Minimum 5 years of senior experience in Health and Safety within the nuclear industry
⦁ Relevant Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in the Health and Safety Field
⦁ A Team Player that accepts and can manage change regularly
⦁ Demonstrated Leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills
⦁ Must be comfortable working in Radiological Work Areas
⦁ Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc.
