Job Description - AZ - Occupational Therapist(OT), Days(-hour shifts), **COVID- Vaccines required** - Tuba City

Mobile Health Team Inc., a staffing agency has an opening for an Occupational Therapist(OT) . We are looking for someone with a passion for people.

Location: Tuba City, AZ 86045

Assignment Start Date: 4/15/2024

13 weeks | Days | 8-hour shift | 40 hours weekly

The Occupational Therapist I/II / Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II position serves to provide quality occupational therapy services to a predominantly Native American population for the rehabilitation of patients with various developmental, cognitive, and/or mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • assess and interpret evaluation/s and test results for patients ranging in age from birth through geriatric;
  • determine occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and setting realistic treatment goals depending on the patient's physical, and mental abilities, needs, and evaluation findings and/or diagnosis and documenting in electronic health records (EHR);
  • evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating the patient's progress;
  • recommends and implements adjustments and modifications to the therapy plan;
  • promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to the patient's goals and needs;
  • maintain the operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatients and inpatients
  • documentation of patient care services by charting in patients' records; provision of specialty services to include but not limited to custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, and activities of daily living;
  • provision of specialty clinics (depending on the location of the clinic) including but not limited to Spinal Cord clinic, Functional clinic, Geriatric clinic, Assistive Technology/adaptive equipment evaluation/treatment, Durable Medical Equipment Prosthetic Orthotic Supply Program; assists with direction and development of the occupational therapy service to include continued quality improvement, risk management, and safety; complies with federal, and state occupational therapy certification requirements and follow Hospital policy and procedures;
  • complies with the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Occupational Therapy Profession-Scope of Practice as set forth by the American Occupational Therapy Association;
  • provide training and in-services for student and staff education; consult with the rehabilitation team, and other health care workers (e.g., physician, nurses, social workers, etc.); and other duties.
  • maintain Medical Staff Credentialing Core Privileges.

Applicant must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff. All related information required for credentialing must be provided

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • Previous clinical experience preferred

Education:

  • A bachelor's in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association's Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) is required

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • Must possess a valid, current, full, and unrestricted license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Health Licensure or in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or eligible for licensure in Occupational Therapy in the State of Arizona.
  • Must have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.

EMR System: Allscripts knowledge/experience preferred.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8 am-5 pm

ORIENTATION: Every two (2) weeks only.** Fingerprinting must be submitted and cleared before start. **

COVID EXEMPTIONS: We do not accept religious exemptions. If a candidate submits for a medical exemption, we will have to get approval from our medical review board to proceed with onboarding.
