Job Title: BIM Manager 

Department: Operations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

 

· Schedule workflow through CAD Department based on project schedules and workload.

· Build relationships with General Contractors, Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, 2 tier Subcontractors (CAD), and Internal Field Teams.

· Oversee and manage coordination with 2 tier Subs (CAD).

· Train department personnel on CAD standards, practices, and procedures.

· Maintain internal Sheetmetal, Pipe, & Plumbing standard applications & standardizations.

· Manage Software review and renewal.

· Oversee management of CAD database.

· Coordinate efforts with Operations Team.

· Utilize Fabrication CADmep, Navisworks, Excel, and other software to review working drawings and documents that outline mechanical/plumbing systems for coordination and installation.

· Review reports such as AD Verification, Valve and Damper Schedules, Equipment Orientation Schedules, Material Requisitions, Specification Checklists.

· Utilize Job Specifications, Contract Plans, Scope of Work, Submittals, and other information to ensure information being generated and distributed is compliant with contractual requirements and industries standards.

· Review all Structure Coordination drawings with required dimensions and elevations for Floor Sleeves, Embeds, and Wall Openings.

· Visits (2) projects per month to learn means and methods of installation to enhance knowledge and reduce cost on future projects. 

· Generate and provide RFI’S to assigned Project Manager that outlines clear verbiage on conflict and offers suggested resolution. 

Conduct quality control reviews and corrections of CAD Drawings; compliance with contract documents, look for common sense routing options for systems to save cost and reduce fittings, assure each trade resource places their own hangers on systems as they draw to confirm each system can be installed without

· conflict with other trades and to confirm spacing of systems is adequate for the hangers.

· Attend all internal and external meetings associated with CAD design task such as Estimating turnover meetings, Feld turnover meetings, weekly project meetings and BIM coordination meetings.

· Foster a positive work atmosphere, promote proactive and effective communication, facilitate problem solving and conflict resolution in a constructive manner.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

 

Minimum 7+ years experience as a CAD Manager.

Minimum Associates degree in Drafting.

Strong leadership skills.

Knowledge of industry standards, work-flows, data formats and interoperability techniques.

Great organizational skills.

Knowledge of the commercial mechanical/plumbing industry.

Good interpersonal skills and commitment to helping others be successful with technology.

Facilitate problem solving and conflict resolution in a constructive manner.
