Broadband HFS Construction Coordinator
Fiber Network Services (FNS) is looking for an experienced In-house Construction Coordinator to join our team in Roanoke, VA. As the Construction Coordinator, you'll oversee various HFC/Broadband projects, including BAU, spans, relos, Node splits, Hyperbuild, Newbuild, and Metro-E.

We have Master Construction Agreements with Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Crown Castle, Segra, Suddenlink, Windstream, and RCN in the States of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Hew Hampshire, New Jersey, and Washington D.C. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform walkouts/surveys/estimates, pre and post-construction
- Create/verify as-builts
- Troubleshoot any build-out issues in the field
- Verify that subcontractors have the necessary PPE gear to perform work
- Identify permitting requirements as needed
- Communicate with any customers in the path of construction
- Create a bill of materials (BOM)
- Compile notice-to-proceed (NTP) packages for contractors
- Provide weekly reports to management on construction activity
- Follow-up with city municipalities regarding permitting issues
Qualifications:
- Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in HFC or similar outside plant construction
- Educated on local area dig laws
- Strong leadership skills to mentor and influence subcontractors and vendors
- Customer service acumen to interpret, communicate, and help deliver client needs
- Impressive ability to organize and prioritize projects
- Strong understanding of fiber and coax engineering
- Computer proficiency and Microsoft tools to create, manage, and present data and reporting to various stakeholders and management
- Strong communication skills and ability to adjust delivery to your audience verbally and in writing
- Interested and able to work overtime occasionally to meet project demands
- Perform job functions both indoors and outdoors rain or shine
- Must be able to walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day
- Ability to effectively communicate with others and work within a team environment
- Ability to be at work every day at 7am
- Ability to occasionally be On-Call for after-hours emergency work
- Possession of a valid Driver's license
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to speak fluent English,
- Education: High School or G.E.D
