Job Description :

Indorama Integrated Oxides & Derivatives is currently looking for a Category Manager to join our team in The Woodlands, TX. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain assigned category strategies that support and advance the companys long-term strategic sourcing objectives and policies. Evaluate market conditions and negotiate agreements to deliver value and reduce the overall cost to serve model. Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships. Coordinate information flow to all key internal business partners and senior management regarding supplier performance. Effective project management will be critical in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage professional relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders yielding effective partnerships.

• Support category sourcing strategies including development and execution of clearly defined sourcing events; document bid process through supplier communication; drive the selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams; conduct supplier negotiations; and ongoing supplier management

• Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.

• Use current spend information/data and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects for individual subcategories and develop an overall cost reduction plan.

• Create and defend category strategies and decisions with sound analytics. Collaborate with key analytical support functions; synthesize results.

• Purchase services in the assigned category portfolio, consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.

• Effectively use SAP to create and maintain supplier agreements, pricing, or category analytics in a timely manner.

• Effectively interact / communicate with manufacturing, engineering, project management and suppliers regarding category management activities.

• Perform other tactical purchasing duties; including bid tab creation and analysis, maintain PO / Proposal logs, Contractor Logs and folders, vendor setup and invoicing issues.

Skills:

• Category Management process including developing and implementing sourcing strategies for Contractors, MRO, and / or other Indirect products and services.

• Development of Supplier Goods and Services Frame Agreements

• Excellent communication skills and analysis skills to effectively interact with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.

• Proven experience in managing industrial categories, services, or sourcing activities

• Strong working knowledge of business analysis, market research, financial analysis, cost models, procurement/supply chain analysis and supplier performance management.

• Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills with a track record of proactive problem resolution within complex supply chains.

• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.

• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).

Education and/or Experience:

• A Bachelors degree in business, supply chain or engineering, with equivalent work experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment.

• Strategic sourcing or supply chain management experience (contracts and vendor management, supplier evaluation, regulatory compliance, segmentation & taxonomy).

• 5 to 10 years of work experience in managing service and contractor categories related to the Petrochemicals Industry.

• Proven project management experience in industrial services or sourcing activities, with an emphasis in the following areas:

• Construction / Engineering Services, Capital Projects & Plant Maintenance Services

• Proficiency in SAP or an equivalent ERP business system.

• Experience managing contractor safety compliance programs similar to ISN Networld or PICS.

• A high degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. Strong analysis skills related Excel are required.
