Job Description - Chemical process engineer

As a Chemical Process Engineer , you will be a driving force in the Delaware, Ohio plant’s future state plans, looking for and validating use of analytical testing techniques to ensure compliance to established quality standards. Working onsite in Delaware, OH you will be reporting directly to the Lead Process Analytics Engineer and will collaborate with multiple departments to research, recommend, and implement technologies to reduce product cycle time and improve production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, recommend, and integrate quality technology within our manufacturing processes

  • Develop and introduce new techniques and instrumentation; create SOPs and training programs

  • Design and conduct validation studies comparing use of benchtop and in-line and analytical instrumentation in a Quality Control lab setting

  • Propose opportunities for projects and bring projects to successful completion

  • Data analysis and interpretation of results at both lab and production scales

  • Document, compile, and present scientific results

  • Provide recommendations of alternative analytical techniques and devices

  • Collaborate with QC, Operations, Project Engineering, and Process Engineering teams to guide successful project and process implementation

  • Maintain applicable laboratory and manufacturing instrumentation through preventive maintenance, calibration, and verification programs

  • Support site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) goals, participating in corrective actions such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and other EHS elements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related scientific field·

  • 2+ years of experience with analytical instrumentation·

  • Understanding of Lean Sigma methodologies and design of experiments·

  • Experience with multiple data visualization and analysis methods·

  • Project management experience, including the ability to plan projects to achieve desired outcomes
