Job Description - Claims Adjuster

What You Can Expect As a Claims Adjuster you will be responsible for documenting, evaluating, reserving, negotiating and resolving Construction Defect and Property Damage claims. The successful candidate will have knowledge of claim handling procedures throughout the claim life-cycle and will ensure compliance with quality standards. Our in-house adjusters share responsibility for, among other things: Investigating and analyzing claim/case facts and allegations;
Consistently evaluating exposures and establishing proper indemnity and expense reserves;
Verifying damages with appropriate reports, records and other documentation;
Pursuing cost effective disposition;
Retaining, monitoring and working with defense counsel;
Appropriately managing protected personally identifiable information and other confidential and/or proprietary information;
Attending legal proceedings as needed, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials.
Salary commensurate with experience. To Be Successful High school diploma or GED required;
Two (2) years property damage or construction defect claim handling experience;
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
Standard computer skills and aptitude;
A positive, customer service attitude;
Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently; and
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight For Your Safety The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
