Construction Laborer

A local civil contractor is looking for asphalt laborers to assist with repair, maintenance and installation of asphalt operations. The right candidates will have experience digging out , shoveling, grading, looping, tamping and rolling out asphalt. Additionally, candidates will be familiar with jobsite operations on highways and interstates, safety practices, personal protective equipment, job site setup and breakdown.

$18-$21 an hour opportunity for overtime - NO BENEFITS

Responsibilities:- Assist with the construction and maintenance of asphalt projects- Load and unload construction materials and equipment- Operate hand tools and power tools as directed by the construction team- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to prepare for construction- Perform general cleanup of work areas to maintain a safe and organized environment- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)- Assist with work zone set up and break down; Provide flagging services for traffic- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions from supervisors
- Class C driver's license with no restrictions
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have attention to detail.
- Must be able to listen carefully and effectively convey information.
- Practice workplace safety.
- Able to apply basic knowledge and problem solving skills to job.
- Must treat others with respect!
- Must have reliable transportation to/from jobsites; no take home vehicles
- One year of verifiable work history as a asphalt construction laborer required
- Ability to work in varying outdoor environment including extreme hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time.
