Job Description - Construction Quality Control Specialist

Join a leading construction company in the Western USA as a Quality Control Specialist - Mechanical. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety on our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and company policies. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborate with various trades, and contribute to the success of our construction operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site walks and inspections to identify and rectify poor quality or non-conforming work.
  • Enforce safety plans outlining the scope and mandated requirements while operating on the site.
  • Teach or facilitate training in various areas required for each project.
  • Review submittals and verify materials are installed in accordance with approved submittals.
  • Research, interpret, and implement various regulations and requirements.
  • Create and execute a Project Quality Control Plan.
  • Lead 3-phase quality meetings.
  • Record and log testing and inspections done on site.
  • Provide guidance for all mechanical elements on site.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman’s license with a minimum of 5 years mechanical experience or BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent plan and specification reading skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • Honest and dependable.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must pass government security clearance standards.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen test if hired.
  • Good driving record, valid license - insurable through the company.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Procore.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30 hours Training, US Army Corps of Engineers CQC certification, LEED Training.
