Estimator - Commercial Construction, Estimating, Bidding

Estimator  Position Overview:
We are an established Commercial General Contractor and we are looking for a seasoned Estimator to lead our preconstruction team and be responsible for bidding and estimating a large proportion of our projects. 

We're a family-oriented mid-sized commercial GC that emphasizes life-work balance. We try to keep our employees happy, and NOT overworked. We also believe strongly in profit sharing. As an estimator with us, you will get a commission on every job you estimate, and a larger commission on every job you bring in! Plus we do half-day Fridays! Our projects range from commercial ground-up jobs, to large multi-family renovations, and most of them fall within the $5 million - $30 million range. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates for projects based on information obtained from plans and specifications - Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates - Research and analyze the cost of materials, equipment, and labor - Utilize estimating software for generating the estimates - Develop scopes of work for each trade for each project - Put together bid proposals and contracts - Build relationships with contractors and suppliers - Participate in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers - Present bid results to management for review - Participate in post-bid and post-award meetings  Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in construction management or a related field - 5+ years of experience in a similar role - Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents - Ability to use estimating software (e.g. Timberline) - Knowledge of local building codes and regulations - Excellent communication and negotiation skills - Familiarity with multi-family, ground-up construction, renovations, and public works projects Benefits
