EXPERIENCED HEAVY EQUIPMENT FIELD WELDER

Rummel Construction is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Field Welder to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Field Welder, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and enhancing the functionality of heavy equipment and machinery through proficient welding techniques. Your expertise in welding and fabrication will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of various construction and industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform welding repairs and fabrications on heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and trucks, to ensure optimal functionality and structural integrity.
  • Evaluate equipment damage and defects to determine the appropriate welding methods and materials required for repair.
  • Operate welding equipment and machinery such as stick, MIG, and TIG welders, plasma cutters, and grinders.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute welding projects.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and repair teams to identify equipment issues, recommend solutions, and carry out necessary welding repairs on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all welding and fabrication activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to guarantee operational efficiency and safety.
  • Document all welding repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities for record-keeping purposes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in welding is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience as a field welder, preferably in heavy equipment or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in various welding methods, including stick, MIG, and TIG, with the ability to select the appropriate method for each project.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment, tools, and safety gear.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in executing welding projects.
  • Physical stamina and strength to work in challenging outdoor and on-site conditions.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to welding and heavy equipment operation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly to colleagues and supervisors.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Field Welding
