Position Highlights

The Facilities Space Data Coordinator position is an integral part of the team which collects, analyzes, reports and disseminates space data for the management of the University's physical space consistent with the mission and goals of Business Affairs. The Facilities Space Data Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of physical space data which has a significant effect throughout campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the University's electronic Physical Space Inventory of building, floor, and room attributes of all physical space owned or formally leased by the University of Arizona.
  • Ensure physical space data is accurate and up-to-date through comprehensive review and site visits.
  • Contribute creative ideas to improve efficiency and enhanced service in the overall operation of the team considering the needs of the department and other groups and fully supporting team decisions and other team members. 
  • Establish routine quality control protocols to ensure standardization and consistency.
  • Efficiently process information for new construction, renovations, and acquisitions.
  • Provide initial review of proposed renovations to campus space to ensure the University's space guidelines have been followed. Coordinate with Space Analyst for additional review, if necessary.
  • Develop, maintain and track a log of on-going UA new construction and renovation projects by following up with PDC & Facilities Management project managers from inception through completion to assure that the space data has been updated accordingly.
  • Coordinate the assignment of room numbers in all new and renovated buildings
  • Maintain an electronic library of AutoCAD floor plan files that are incorporated into the online interactive floorplans in coordination with PDC GIS team and used by the campus community.
  • Convert architectural files into standard University floor plan format.
  • Ensure floor plan accuracy through effective communication with Space, Design, and GIS teams.
  • Independently develop, manage and take on new, individual projects, while also working with the team on large-scale projects utilizing efficient time management and organization skills.
  • Communicate and work with staff across all levels of campus in a professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
