Geoscience Program Support Technician - Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences

Description : The Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville seeks to hire a Geoscience Program Support Technician to start August 1, 2024. This is a 12-month full-time staff position with a competitive salary and full benefits. The Program Support Technician will support the academic mission and assist in the expansion of experiential learning opportunities within the department. The technician will serve as the department lab safety officer, provide training on certain analytical and research equipment, maintain and provide training on common-use rock preparation equipment, coordinate and maintain technical field equipment, and assist with field trip execution. The technician will also provide support for classroom and laboratory educational experiences by designing, constructing and maintaining instructional demonstrations and curating teaching specimen collections.
