Job Description - Laboratory Research Leader, Stark Neurosciences Research Institute

Department STARK NEUROSCIENCES RES INST (IN-SNRI-IUINA) Job Summary
  • Oversees management of laboratory including training of personnel in various techniques and analysis.
  • Conducts large-scale surveys, research projects, and complex experiments.
  • Ensures that lab safety policies and procedures are observed and maintains safety records.
  • Oversees the set-up and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Assists in preparation of completed research reports or analyses on each project phase.
  • Maintains inventory and orders supplies as necessary; oversees the disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Maintains fiscal accountability of the program, including grant proposal development, and approves all expenditures for the laboratory.
Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education. EDUCATION Required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE Required
  • 2 years of related research experience.

Working Conditions / Demands The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
