Permit Technician - Building **Location:** Orlando, FL 32809**Pay Rate:** $18.54/hr **Length of Assignment:** 2 months+ **Hours:** 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. **Key Responsibilities:**- **Customer Service Excellence:** Respond promptly and courteously to internal and external inquiries, providing accurate information and representing OCPS in a positive light. - **Permit Verification:** Check permits to ensure contractors possess valid licenses and insurance, maintaining compliance with regulations. - **Financial Management:** Account for funds received, prepare billing reports, and complete required paperwork for permits. - **Technical Support:** Provide assistance to district personnel and customers regarding permit-related inquiries and issues. - **Document Management:** Create and maintain a filing system for permit documentation, ensuring easy access and organization. - **Compliance Assurance:** Ensure adherence to departmental policies, state statutes, and certification requirements. **Qualifications:**- High school diploma or GED required; additional certification or training in construction-related fields preferred. - Minimum of five years of clerical or technical work experience, with at least three years in construction, real estate, or related areas. - Proficiency in using various software applications; experience with permitting software is advantageous. - Permit Technician Certification from the International Code Conference organization preferred; willingness to obtain certification within the first year of employment if not already possessed.
