Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Pre-K Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development and experience working with young students. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a key role in educating and nurturing young minds in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans to promote the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of preschool-aged children (4 & 5 year olds).
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom setting that encourages exploration and learning.
- Provide individualized attention to students to support their unique learning needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a collaborative learning community.
- Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Incorporate hands-on activities, educational games, and creative materials to enhance the learning experience.
- Meet deadlines in completing monthly newsletters, progress reports, lesson plans, self-evaluations, and/or other reports requested by the Director.
- Attend, participate in, and contribute constructively to monthly staff meetings, Open Houses, Family Events, Community Events and required workshops outside of school hours.
Schedule:
Mon-Fri mornings approx. 8:45AM-12:30PM. Opportunity for more hours some days until 2pm if desired. This position will begin with the Fall school year (Sept 3rd 2024). There will be training period and ample time to set up classroom before this date. School schedule goes from beginning of September through Mid May, SUMMERS ARE OFF!
Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood education or similar experience. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a daycare, tutoring, or educational setting.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with young learners.
- Proficiency in math concepts suitable for preschool curriculum.
- A passion for child welfare and creating a nurturing educational environment.
Requirements:
- Clearances: DHS PA Child Abuse, PA State Police Criminal Report and FBI fingerprinting report
- Mandated Reporter training
- Pediatric CPR/First Aid training
