Summary

Provide highly skilled, varied, and complex administrative support with minimal supervision to attorneys in their specialized areas of law, primarily in the areas of water resources, land rights, and the environment; but may also include litigation, regulatory, renewable energy, and governance.

 

What You'll Do

• Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to assist attorneys in organizing fast-paced legal practices with the goal of providing accurate and timely legal advice to natural resources business clients;

• Organizational Skills and Responsibilities: Ability to organize time and materials efficiently for yourself and others. Organizational responsibilities include organizing calendars, scheduling multi-party meetings, reviewing, analyzing, and organizing incoming materials (digital and hard copy), filing documents, prioritizing and tracking tasks, preparing meeting folders, and calendaring court hearings and litigation deadlines;

• Teamwork: Strong teamwork skills to effectively operate within a collaborative environment and constructively contribute to high functioning teams of professionals; coordinating among multiple team members to complete tasks;

• Accountability: Contribute to a culture of accountability with high self-initiative for completing delegated matters timely and efficiently, as well as communicate results;

• Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills;

• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to develop constructive and productive relationships both inside and outside the company to accomplish our mission;

• Growth mindset: willing to learn from mistakes and improve every day;

• Creativity: Ability to find and implement creative solutions to solving problems;

• Written Materials: Assist in the preparation of written materials including formatting, and finalizing status reports, briefing papers, complex agreements and pleadings; and

• Research: Perform legal research using resources such as Westlaw, PACER, FERC E-library, state and federal courts and other sources.

What It Takes To Succeed


• Process Board materials by tracking deadlines, assisting with preparation of board materials;
• Maintain and report attorney CLE;
• Ability to accurately type 70 words per minute;
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to preserve and maintain confidential communication and legally privileged information;
• Strong proofreading skills, attention to detail, and exceptional work product;
• Proficient in docketing and calendaring pursuant to Arizona and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure;
• Tech savvy and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe; and
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Enterprise Content Management is preferred.

Experience

At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience. A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level. Once placed into the job family, an employee may become eligible for promotion by demonstrating the ability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by their management and meeting experience requirements.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
