Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Estimator / Project Manager to join their team. The role involves preparing estimates and managing projects for heavy civil infrastructure by analyzing specifications and contract plans to determine cost-efficient quantities and construction practices to achieve pursuit, schedule, and price goals.

What You Will Be Doing

• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc., to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
• Incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into unit and person-hour figures.
• Provide technical input regarding project and contract risks to the lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval. Review final estimates to ensure defined work aligns with overall project schedule and cost goals.
• Prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of the scope of work. Calculate material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
• Monitor client addendum and advise the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
• Assist with design review options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Partner with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between the pursuit team and project management team.
• Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
• Maintain knowledge of the company’s values and strategic plan.
• Support published corporate policies.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
• 10+ years of experience in the construction industry, estimating, or cost control preferred.
• Specialized knowledge and experience in alternative construction delivery methods.
• Required company or regulatory certifications.
• Required company Safety certifications.
• Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for clear and effective support research, recommendations, and pricing.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Time management and strong prioritization skills to meet tight turnaround and bid deadlines.
• Ability to lead pursuit and estimating activities on a large or complex pursuit project.

Salary Range:
Minimum: USD $85,000.00/Yr.
Maximum: USD $130,000.00/Yr.
