Family owned and operated, The Coffee Tree Roasters has been a Pittsburgh favorite for 28 years. We are seeking a hard-working, enthusiastic individual to fill our part-time or full-time shift supervisor position.

Shift Supervisor Qualifications:

• Leadership to manage small teams of baristas, identifying strengths and weaknesses to effectively delegate tasks as well as coaching them to improve on various skills
• Communicate in organized, concise manner to disseminate new information or procedures, as well as providing support and constructive feedback to staff
• Interpersonal skills to help build team chemistry and customer relations
• Ability to handle conflicts by identifying causes and providing resolutions to build successful relationships between baristas
• Using critical thinking and problem solving skills to pinpoint issues and develop methodical, step-by-step plans to fix them
• Time and priority management to balance workload with time constraints
• Flexible availability; you will be working with the manager and assistant manager to maintain the store which will require working weekends, holidays and varying shifts (opens, mids, closes)
• Basic accounting of cash drawers and deposits
• All basic qualifications and functions required for barista role (see below)

Essential Functions:

• Provide excellent customer service in a timely fashion
• Prepare and serve drinks and food in accordance with health code and Coffee Tree standards
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Restocking and maintaining merchandise displays
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Meet all policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
• Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Lifting objects up to 50 lbs
• Standing for long periods of time
• Ability to learn quickly
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to build relationships
• Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced work environment

Holiday availability required on days we are open!

Pay starting at $11-$13/hr + tips

*Wage dependent upon experience
