Consistent with our core commitment of safety, PSEG has made the decision to require all new hires to be fully COVID-19 vaccinated as a condition of hire. For successful candidate, a Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required.
Provides leadership on assigned projects and Design within the Electric Transmission Engineering organization by utilizing a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience. Acts as a primary interface with multiple Consulting-Engineering firms for Inside Plant projects that are outsourced, and assures that PSE&G standards are maintained by these firms. Coordinate and oversee complex projects and provide liaison functions with Licensing and Permitting Group, System Planners, System Protection Engineers, Asset Experts, Vendors, Project Managers, construction and operating personnel, consultants and contractors. Review complex Civil Design drawings for conformance to PSE&G standards and applicable federal, state and local ordinances. Provide technical support during permitting and construction of projects; resolve complex technical problems and provide solutions. On call when required 7 days, 24 hours, for response to system emergencies. Evaluate and review drawings and documents used for construction and bid purposes. Must maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management’s expectations for effective internal business controls
Provide Civil engineering support on projects from conceptual through completion. Reviews and checks structural designs including drawings, calculations, specifications, submittals etc. on outsourced and in-house engineering projects for conformance to PSE&G standards and applicable design criteria. Provide construction support. Must demonstrate leadership in their role and have the ability to stand-in for the Group’s supervisor when required. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups. Cleary demonstrated individual and team leadership on critical projects and initiatives.
Make critical design decisions and provide solutions for replacement of failed equipment on emergency basis. Develop estimates and schedules for civil design work for new and emergency projects. Conduct field investigations at substations to verify job-site existing conditions. Act as a primary interface with multiple Consulting-Engineering firms for project work that is outsourced, and assure that Codes, Industry practices and PSE&G standards are maintained by these firms.
Candidate must have the initiative and ability to work independently on most issues with limited supervision as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues and projects. Proven ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups and clearly display individual and team leadership on critical projects and initiatives.
