Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer – Construction Management Firm - Base Salary to 120k/year – Philadelphia, PA

• Our client provides construction management services, delivering maximum results for clients in multiple market sectors across the northeastern U.S. Founded in 2002, they serve as the owner’s representative and advocate through all phases of a project under a variety of delivery methods. They have spent the past 20 years building their reputation for quality through a proven track record of hundreds of successful K-12 schools, colleges/universities, and municipal/public sector projects throughout the tri-state region.
• Currently, they are seeking a Structural Engineer (internally titled Licensed Structural Engineer) to join their growing team and work out of their Philadelphia Office, reporting to the Design Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Formulating the scope for Capital Projects: This involves inspecting, assessing, and preparing preliminary designs to establish a formal scope determination report.
• Engaging and overseeing external Design Consultants: Tasks include drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluating design proposals, conducting technical reviews of design documentation, and approving payment.
• Managing the permit, advertisement, and bidding procedures: Responsibilities encompass preparing bid specifications, liaising with potential contractors, and navigating processes with relevant agencies like L&I.
• Providing design support throughout the construction phase.
• Conducting comprehensive inspections and issuing assessment reports and directives to various departments within the School District, including Facilities, Maintenance, and Environmental Services.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
• Possession of a Professional Engineer's License in Pennsylvania is required.
• 7+ years of professional experience specializing in the design, construction, and assessment of school buildings and facilities.
