Job Description - Structural Engineer

Position Description : This role is dedicated to the Forensics Engineering service area with a focus on fast-paced investigation and repair/reconstruction of existing buildings. It is ideally suited for someone with a strong background in wood-frame residential construction and requires frequent travel to sites for investigation and data collection. There will be opportunities across a range of damage-related project types in a dynamically expanding practice with excellent growth trajectory. We provide focused technical development within a highly supportive team environment.

Ideal Candidate:  Candidates in Seattle with experience and interest in field work, document production, and high-efficiency workflows. You will have the ability to use traditional and cutting-edge tools to gather information and generate client deliverables.

Compensation : The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $76,000 and $92,000  per year. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to pay transparency laws. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including company geographic differentials, education level, and candidate qualifications.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural (or Civil) Engineering with timber and seismic design coursework or equivalent experience.
  • Must have the ability to travel to sites across a broad geographic range and to gather information from throughout the site (including crawl space and attic access).
  • Must have organizational, communication, technical, and teamwork skills.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of residential and commercial building types, as well as CAD/BIM platforms (Revit).
  • Experience in construction is a plus.
