Job Description

Job Title: Facilities - Facilities Housing Office Assistant. (NFWS)

Please Note: Applicants MUST be available to work over Summer.

Position Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to assist Facilities Housing Management and Maintenance Personal with clerical and organizational work. 

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

Manages and updates physical and electronic department calendars

Assists in moving building material, equipment, supplies when needed

Assists in creating department PowerPoints, Agenda’s, Checklists, Organizational Charts, Inventory Sheets, and other docs.

Assists in creating cost reports, work order reports, labor reports, etc.

Walks buildings and audits inventory and material for inventory control

Assists in inspections and reporting

Data Entry

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

Computer (desktop or laptop)

Printer

Qualifications:

Must have some experience in office environment (facilities/construction experience a plus)

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs

Must be able to stay on feet for up to 6-hour shifts

Must be a team player

Must be open to learning and adapting

Must be good at following strict departmental policies and protocols

Must be open to constructive criticism

Must be able to type 45 words a minute

Must have experience with Microsoft Programs such as: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook. Visio experience is a plus.

Must be organized and neat

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program of Master’s program

Retain a 2.0 GP as a Bachelor level student or 3.0 GPA as a Master’s level student.

Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Standing 2 hours a day

Kneeling: occasionally

Climbing: occasionally

Fine Eye to Hand Coordination: Occasionally

Driving: occasionally

Work Environment: Primarily indoors, occasionally outside.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Anticipated End Date: August 31st, 2024
