Traffic/Roadway Engineer

Full-service engineering firm with tradition and reputation that goes back over 40 years looking to add a  Traffic/Roadway Engineer to their Indianapolis office!

Responsibilities:

• Prepare preliminary engineering assessment for traffic project (roundabouts and traffic signals)
  
• As part of team, develop/design roadway projects for state and local clients
  
• Prepare signing, traffic, and lighting plans
  
• Prepare Maintenance of Traffic Plans
  
• Manage all aspects of project from start to finish including cost control, staffing and quality control
  
• Manage/coordinate work efforts
  
• Build/maintain client relationships
  
• Participate in professional organizations to build relationships with other consultants, maintain industry recognition, and promote the firm’s business
  
• Assist with business development efforts (proposal writing, trade show/conference attendance)
  
• Meet/exceed client expectations
  
• Mentor/train junior staff
  
• Develop/review plans and computations to ensure quality and accuracy of the design work and construction plans
  
• Develop time-saving design processes to create efficient designs to ensure project is completed on time and on budget
  

Requirements:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering
  
• 2+ years of experience in INDOT traffic and roadway design
  
• Indiana PE preferred
  
• Position ideal for a recent graduate with 2 to 4 years of experience with intent to obtain a PE License
  
• Project management experience preferred
  
• Proficient in Microstation Openroads or other roadway design software
  
• Familiar with the Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
  
• Experience with Synchro and SIDRA preferred
  
• Experience with TORUS software preferred
  

Salary is commensurate with experience.
