Job Description - Volleyball Camp Aide

Reports to: Program Supervisor/Coordinator

Wage: $8 - $10/hour

Part-time/Non-exempt/non-benefitted

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Volleyball Camp Rec Aide serves under the direction and general supervision of the Volleyball Supervisor, Program Coordinators and the Recreation Director. Volleyball camp is Monday, June 24 - Thursday, June 27. Hourly requirements are part time/seasonal and not to exceed 29 hours per week. Hours will vary between 8 to 12 hours for the week. Volleyball camp rec aides must have a general knowledge of Volleyball skills and rules. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age. Closing date: Friday, June 7th, at 5pm. FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Work under direct supervision of the Volleyball Camp supervisor.
  • Attend all assigned camp dates and arrive 15 minutes prior to camp time.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, parents and other staff.
  • Manage volleyball participant groups and teach necessary volleyball skills.
  • Attend volleyball camp trainings.
  • Assist with setup/takedown and clean-up of facilities.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants must be at least 14 years of age.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Able to communicate effectively with participants, parents and other staff.
  • Ability to manage participant groups and teach skills necessary to learning volleyball basics.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Volleyball Rec Aides must have a general knowledge of Volleyball skills and rules. Prior referee or teaching experience preferred but not required.

CONDITIONS

  • Moderate physical activity. Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds.
  • Position requires walking, standing, lifting and other physical activity.
  • Work entire camp week, M-Thurs.
