Job Title: Access Services Associate
Location: Clinical Practices of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA
Shift Time: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Contract Duration: July 9, 2024 - October 19, 2024
Job Summary:
This remote, high-volume customer service role supports Penn Medicine ambulatory practices in a call center environment. Key responsibilities include patient registration, appointment scheduling, referrals, and pre-authorizations. The role requires excellent customer service skills and a focus on productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and anticipate patient needs to improve their experience.
Answer phones, manage patient requests, and follow department protocols.
Document patient needs and route appropriately through the EMR.
Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, computer and EMR skills.
Solve telephone issues and report problems related to volume to manager.
Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements pertinent to patient service and billing procedures.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
Additional Info:
4-week mandatory onsite training and onboarding.
Primarily a work-from-home position after training.
Occasional on-site presence may be required.
