Job Description - Aircraft Project Manager

Position Summary:

AAA United States, Inc . has partnered with a company in Lake Charles, LA that is a premier provider of VIP/VVIP interior completions for large aircraft, ranging from B737 and A320 airframes to larger Boeing and Airbus. They are a leader in designing, manufacturing, and delivering aerospace products, services, and solutions to customers on a global scale. Their primary focus is on achieving design excellence and redelivering superior quality products to private entities, government officials, heads of state, and corporate protocol operators.

The Aircraft Project Manager has “full project ownership” of the assigned aircraft to receive V/VIP Interior Refurbishment / Refresh, Modification / STC and full maintenance services. He/she develops the plan in collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and Planning then coordinates and controls the distribution and management of the project timelines and milestones to ensure the Company meets the re-delivery date. 

Essential Functions:

  • In collaboration with Sales, Design, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance Managers and Customers, establish the project plan for each aircraft. 
  • Coordinate all Pre-Dock meetings, Daily progress meetings, and final work-scope close out meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Aircraft Managers and Director of Maintenance for planned workload levels and priorities. Help determine if Outside Services personnel are necessary to accomplish the assigned work-scope.
  • Coordinate material requirements with Supply Chain Leaders to ensure required materials and parts are on hand when required to complete aircraft tasks.
  • Meet regularly with Finance and other stakeholders to ensure the project meets it’s expectations.
  • Review daily task performance and progress on aircraft to determine if any alteration to the plan and schedule is necessary to maintain the aircraft re-delivery schedule and to ensure that tasks are completed within budgeted time.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings with Customer and all relevant department heads concerning operational requirements and activities, clearly establishing objectives and actions.
  • Obtain customer approvals for man-hours and parts as needed.
  • Maintain close and frequent communication with the Director of Maintenance, Director of Completions, and Chief Engineer notifying them of progress and any roadblocks or threats to the project’s critical path that could impact redelivery.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are either in-inventory or requested in a timely manner in coordination with Supply Chain Leaders and Operations. 
  • Create continuous process improvements and to increase efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or related field
  • PMP Certification
  • A&P certificate
  • Master’s degree desired
  • Supervisory experience desired
